OUR GOAL is to help in the improvement of the quality of life of some specific groups in our community such as:
1) Children at risk - In our neighborhood, and in our society as a whole, there are thousands of children at risk who are longing for someone to come and bring them some love and hope for tomorrow. This group includes the siblings of the children that we have placed in adoption in foreign countries. Most of these children will never go to school. Our hearts go out to them. We can never help all of them. As God leads and moves into our hearts, we try to provide to some of them a scholarship which covers school uniforms, textbooks, tuition and one hot meal five days a week. Others receive only tuition for the whole school year. The scholarship program is done in a yearly basis. Sometimes, we do a little more if there is sickness involved.
2) Impoverished orphanage - We are supporting on a regular monthly basis an impoverished orphanage called BON SAMARITAIN ( Good Samaritan ) in the nearby town of Croix-des-Bouquets.
3) Drop-Outs - Hundreds and hundreds of young men and women have drop-out of school. They are bright, intelligent, able and willing to learn with eagerness. They have no opportunity of going back to school or learning a trade. To them also, we extend a loving hand in Christ 's name. We help them go to a trade school to learn a skill, such as: accounting, nursing aide, mechanics, mason, carpentry, tailor, dressmaker, computer, and so on… Although, there are not jobs in Haiti, learning a skill increases one’s chance to get a job.
4) Single Mothers - They are in a very sad situation, most of them have no support, no education and no skills. Many of them have been raped and some get pregnant just for enough money to buy food for a day. We try to encourage them in a practical way during the pregnancy. We hope to shelter some of them temporally, where they will have enough to eat, be tested for some diseases and cover the cost of delivery. They are free to keep their babies or to place them for adoption.
5) Family Counseling - Depression is very common in Haiti. We provide families and individuals with basic and short term Christian counseling to help them face the future. We hope and plan to encourage them in a practical way to learn a skill. Our purpose is to lead them to put their faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, and to believe in their God’s given ability for a better tomorrow.
6) Elderly and Handicap - Some of them are homebound and have needs to be supported. They do not have children to support them. There is no welfare program in Haiti which provides for their basic needs. To these groups also, we provide some financial support on a monthly basis, usually with cash money for food, medication, or paying for a doctor visit.
7) Needy Families - Many of our children come from families where mother and father are alive. These parents cannot satisfy the basic needs of their children. Because of their great parental love, they give up these children for adoption, so that these children will have a brighter future. Many of these parents do not have a roof over their heads. In some cases, we pay for their rent, give scholarship to their children, and help meet some of their basic needs.
8) Bolosse Baptist Church is our home church. They have established a benevolent funds to support our needy brothers, sisters, and families in Christ. NEW LIFE FOUNDATION supports this program on a regular monthly basis.
9) Community Choirs - We have supported many community church choirs in purchasing their uniforms and covering the costs of their community performances.
10) Missionaries - We support some Haitian missionaries who are ministering to have fellow brothers and sisters in Christ in difficult situation in the FAR WEST of Haiti, and in the Bateys of the Dominican Republic, where large Haitian communities are established.
11) New Life Laboratory is established to provide lab works for our children, and for some of the needy members of our community at no cost whatsoever.
Please, keep in mind that whatever NEW LIFE FOUNDATION does, it is done in a very limited and restricted number. We dream big dreams as far as serving our community. However, our financial means is very limited. We trust the Lord Jesus that other people like you, yourself, would choose to support what NLL is trying to do.
